Are you an African filmmaker with a bold voice and a short film that deserves the spotlight? Frame by Frame is back for its second edition; a curated short film showcase celebrating the depth, diversity, and brilliance of storytelling across the continent and beyond.
This edition invites filmmakers to share stories that captivate them in just a few minutes. Whether your work explores identity, innovation, resistance, joy, or the everyday, we want to see it; frame by frame.

What We’re Looking For:
Genre: All genres welcome (fiction, documentary, experimental, animation, AI etc.)
Length: 2–25 minutes

Eligibility:
Films must be shot in Africa or
Created by Africans (from the continent) or
Created by members of the African diaspora
Production Date: Films must have been completed no earlier than 2024
Language: All languages accepted; non-English films must include English subtitles

Submission Guidelines:
Submit via the [link in our bio] before 17th May 2026 (11:59 PM EAT)
Include a short synopsis (max 100 words) and a filmmaker bio (max 150 words)
Include the film poster formatted 1:1
No submission fee required
