At Creatives Garage, we believe that queer stories deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated not censored or sidelined. Our LGBTQ+ programme creates safe, collaborative spaces for queer creatives to express, connect, and challenge oppression through film, theatre, poetry, gaming, XR, and immersive storytelling.
Whether it's on stage, on screen, in a zine, or in the streets, we are committed to art as resistance and creativity as healing.
Our Approach
Storytelling for Change
From Blooms in the Dark to queer-led short films and podcast anthologies, we tell bold, human stories that reflect the joy, struggle, love, and defiance of LGBTQ+ lives in Kenya and beyond.

Workshops & Labs
We run safe, queer-affirming creative labs on scriptwriting, digital art, podcasting, performance, through co-creating with queer voices, not just talking about them.
Advocacy Through Art
We challenge stigma and push back against censorship through public art interventions, experimental formats, and festival showcases that reclaim visibility and promote queer rights.

Mental Health & Expression Spaces
Through collaborative healing spaces, journaling sessions, and art therapy tools, we address mental health in the queer community because surviving is radical, and thriving is revolutionary.
