
Synopsis
A young Cameroonian student, a Christian, is pursuing his studies in the Algerian city of Mostaganem.
When he discovers a hidden church near the Badr Mosque, in the very heart of the city, he feels a deep urge to visit it—driven by a personal and spiritual quest.
But his path is fraught with obstacles. This journey through the narrow streets of Mostaganem becomes a search for identity, and a fragile bridge between two cultures and two faiths.

About
Ahmed Belmoumene, born on January 6, 2002, is a mechanical engineering student who has distinguished himself in the world of cinema as both an actor and director. He began his career by playing the lead role in La Vie d’après (Life After), a feature film by Anis Djaad, and has also taken part in several films and theatrical productions.
In 2020, he made his directorial debut with his first short film, La Valise (The Suitcase), which received a Special Jury Mention at the Digital Gate International Festival (2021), was selected for the Journées du Cinéma Amateur de Ouagadougou (JCAO), and won Best Directing at the Journées Nationales du Cinéma Étudiant in Skikda.
In 2024, he worked as an assistant on Anis Djaad’s film Terre de Vengeance (Land of Vengeance) and directed his second short film, Courir vers Dieu (Running Toward God). With a diverse and promising trajectory, Ahmed Belmoumene is establishing himself as a talented new voice in cinema.
