Unfold Conversations: AI X Culture, is taking place on 24 June 2026 at Nairobi Street Kitchen. The conversation will explore the intersection of AI, creativity, cultural heritage, and ownership. We'll be looking at how we protect and engage with our cultural expressions as technology evolves so quickly.

We’ve brought together a great mix of perspectives from law, tech, and the arts:

  - Wandiri Karimi is an IP lawyer and cultural leader who advises creators across music, film, and fashion. She co-founded the African Women’s Orchestra and focuses on AI, cultural heritage, and fair attribution.
  - Emmaus Kimani is a poet and curator building infrastructures for artists in Eastern Africa. He founded Culture Contemporary (CC) and the ‘sisi’ archive, focusing on digital culture and how we preserve today's work for the future.
  - Oyinkansola Onwuchekwa (KKC) is a PhD Researcher at the University of Hull specializing in ethical AI and African languages. She’s also a musician who brings technical expertise and creative experience to the table.
  - Bukonola Ngobi is an urban designer who leads public programming at the Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute. She hosts the OngeaAI podcast and will be moderating the conversation, coordinating the flow and themes from.
